Mustang Island Vacation Rentals
Mustang Island is the 18-mile barrier island that runs from Port Aransas south to the Packery Channel and the north end of Padre. It's mostly state park, dune line, and Gulf — the quieter middle stretch between Port A and North Padre. If your idea of vacation is sand and sky and very little else, this is the right address.
Mustang Island State Park
Protected beach, primitive camping, and miles of undeveloped dune line — five minutes from most stays.
Quiet beaches
Drive-on access in most spots, no high-rise wall, and stretches where you'll go an hour without seeing a soul.
Sunrise to sunset
Gulf-facing condos for sunrise coffee, bay-side restaurants for sunset dinner.

There's no traffic light for most of Mustang Island. Highway 361 runs the spine of the island, with rental developments tucked between the dunes on the Gulf side and the bay on the back side. Mustang Island State Park is a big draw — five miles of protected beach, primitive camping, and one of the best surf-fishing stretches on the coast.
Stays on Mustang Island tend to be either condo towers near the Port Aransas end or dune-back houses farther south. Both work; the difference is how walkable you want restaurants and how much you want a 'town.' Whitecap Beach handles both, with no platform service fee added on top.
