Best Restaurants on North Padre Island

North Padre Island eats well for an island its size. Seafood is the default — it's coming out of the same water you're swimming in — but you'll also find solid Tex-Mex, beach-bar burgers, and a surprising number of bakeries. Below is the local shortlist we send to guests.

The Whitecap and South Padre side of the island leans casual: walk-up windows, picnic-table seafood, beach bars where flip-flops are expected. The Port Aransas end has a slightly fancier streak — a few proper white-tablecloth spots — but even there, dressing up means clean board shorts.

Reservations: most island restaurants don't take them, especially in season. The trick is to eat early (5–6pm) or late (after 8pm). Saturday from 6–8pm is a wait everywhere. If you're staying with us and want a table at a specific place on a specific night, mention it in your booking notes and we'll see what we can do.

Seafood tip: 'fresh Gulf shrimp' on a menu in Corpus Christi/Padre is almost always actually fresh and actually Gulf. The boats land at the harbor about a mile away. Order it.
